2025 was a pivotal year for Scotland’s Data Programme, promoting standardisation, collaboration, and valuable insights throughout telecare and housing services. This highlight outlines the significant developments achieved throughout the year.

Progress in 2025

• Data Standardisation: The Telecare Information Framework (TIF) implementation project is underway to introduce a standard for data collection across Scotland, with the majority of TIF fields now embedded into the Shared Alarm Receiving Centre platform.
• Data Pathway: The Data Pathway was relaunched in May 2025, outlining a collaborative, three-phase process for advancing data-driven telecare services. This includes project initiation, data readiness, benefit realisation, and practical implementation guidance and visualisation tools developed alongside service providers and partners.
• Telecare Benefits: The Benefits report highlighted the positive impact of digital telecare in Scotland, demonstrating improved safety, reduced hospital admissions, significant cost savings, and enhanced service efficiency.

The Data Programme within Digital Telecare for 2025 focused on advancing standardisation and interoperability across Scotland’s telecare and housing services. Key achievements included the implementation of a standard data collection framework, delivery of practical guidance, evidence-based benefits realisation and updated guidance for housing in a rapidly changing environment.
