2023 Highlights Day 1: Digital Maturity Assessment

Day 1 of our 12 days of Digital Partnership highlights of 2023.

Today we reflect upon the re-design of our Digital Maturity Assessment!

The Digital Office for Scottish Local Government provides all members of the Digital Partnership with a free Digital Maturity Assessment. 

This Assessment has been redesigned and automated to support the Local Government Digital Partnership in meeting their responsibilities outlined in the Digital Strategy for Scotland - A Changing Nation: How Scotland Will Thrive in a Digital World. 

It does this by providing local authorities with a baseline on where they are with their digital transformation journey, by capturing the views of their workforce, and what opportunities exist going forward.

In 2023 we have worked with: 

•         27 councils to complete the pre-requisite criteria as part of phase 1 of the assessment.
•         5 councils on testing and completion from various targeted employees 

In 2024 we will: 

•        Complete the pre-requisite criteria with all outstanding councils 
•         Work with a steering group to develop the next iteration
•         Engage with CMT/SMT during Objective workshops 
•         Explore possibilities with operational staff during Service Innovation workshops 
•         Complete the automated Digital Maturity Assessment with all councils 
•         Showcase, the top successes, big ideas, challenges and lessons learned across Scottish Local Government 
•         Explore innovation pipelines as a collective
