National Training Platform

To respond to the challenges of training and upskilling the workforce across local government, we are exploring the possibility of a National Training Platform.

As part of our discovery, we have conducted a mapping exercise of learning management systems, content, and digital teams across local government to understand:

• Product / system used 
• Supplier information:  contract duration, cost, number of licences
• HR / OD Lead Contacts 

From these insights we are able to engage with stakeholders to identify how we can work more effectively as a collective and focus on:

• Time efficiencies
• Cost savings 
• Capacity and capability building
• Shared resource

We are now in collaboration with Scottish local authorities, the Society of Personnel and Development Scotland's Digital Portfolio, and the Scottish Digital Academy to conduct stakeholder workshops and a full options appraisal with a cost value proposition.
